CWA - NM State Parks Monitoring

(A project of the CWA Watershed Monitoring program)

Students in northeastern New Mexico experience hands-on science and provide community service thanks to the Cimarron Watershed Alliance and NM State Parks. New Mexico State Parks supports school projects including Raton 7th graders who document signs of Red and Abert squirrels and record forest conditions in Sugarite Canyon State Park. Cimarron School District students participate in water quality studies, stream restoration projects, and mapping beaver ponds. The Cimarron Watershed Alliance and NM State Parks support work that educates students and provides management information to NM State Park officials and local groups.
